The hotel is within a 10 minute walk of the historic Ryton with its ancient church and selection of cafes and restaurants. It is only one mile from Hadrian's Wall walk. The house is only a 10 minute journey from Newcastle center and 5 minutes from the MetroCentre shopping complex. This is a relaxing environment where a warm welcome is guaranteed. Hedgefield House has the interesting distinction of being the 1st private house in England to have a private telephone. Alexander Graham Bell was related, by marriage, to the Simpson family who built the house. Due to covid situation, we are unable to offer meals, all prices are on a room only basis.
